A call for compassion

My friend Yadira was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor, large B cell lymphoma, which is attached to her heart, about six weeks ago. At the time, she was working and going to school to obtain her Master’s degree. Since her diagnosis, she has undergone one chemotherapy treatment and faces five more. So far she has lost about ten pounds and has shaved the dead hair from her head and now wears a wig. Despite the horrors of chemotherapy, her weakened physical state, and the financial burden she faces, she has remained amazingly optimistic about it all.

Yadira will be left with thousands and thousands in medical and hospital bills when this is all over. While she is able to work some now, there soon will be a time where she won’t be able to do so. I don’t think anybody should have to worry about money when faced with such a daunting scenario, and that is why I have set up this charity. All money will go directly to help pay her medical bills and /or living expenses during this time. If there is a surplus when she is done with this, it will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

While you may never meet Yadira, I’m asking you to think about your Mom, your sister, your aunt, or your daughter for a second. Your donation, no matter how small, will go to help another human being in a time of need. Nobody should have to think about going bankrupt while they battle cancer or any other life threatening disease.

Any amount will help: 5, 10, 20, 50 dollars. A onetime donation or a monthly deposit would be greatly appreciated and go to help a young woman face her battle with cancer. The donation link is below for a secure paypal donation.

Thank you for your consideration.
